La Joie de Vivre, the Bayview mansion that was the first house to be used on Australia's The Bachelor television series, has finally been sold after 622 days on the market.
The larger-than-life home was where chiropractor Tim Robards found love with Anna Heinrich.
The grand Minkara Road home <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/55060-bayview-s-la-joie-de-vivre-record-price-falls-back" target="_blank">last traded for $7.05 million in 2016</a> when it was sold by retired transport magnate Greg Poche and his wife Kayvan.
They made a substantial loss on the Minkara Road property, having paid $10 million back in 2003. 
The current longtime vendors are freight tycoon Clive Thomas and wife Lee, apparently secured around $9 million late last week.
They bought it when they were moving to Sydney where their company, C.T. Freight is headquartered, but have since returned to the Gold Coast.

When it sold in 2016, the then selling agency RED Property <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/56594-red-property-donate-bachelor-proceeds-to-charity" target="_blank">donated their $141,000 commission to charity</a>.
But no such generosity from the current agent Darren Curtis.
The vast French provincial-style mansion is inspired by the grand chateau's of the Loire Valley.
La Joie de Vivre sits on a private 4,090 sqm landholding with views across Pittwater to the ocean from its three levels and its sandstone terraces.
It is appointed with 24-carat gold filligree balustrades, parquet floors and arched French windows.

Apparently there were mutiple parties interested despite is having lingered sadly unwanted for so long.

Located at 8 Barcoola Place, the residence is situated on a vast 5,980 square metre block.
It features six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large pool, tennis court, double garage, and outdoor terrace.
The house has 340 square metres of internal floorspace.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the asset can be viewed via an online virtual tour.

Bayview house on six hectare block listed for sale

The townhouse last sold for $770,000 in 2013.
As a result this current sales marks a $298,000 loss for the vendors.
George Vrodos of Property Shop marketed the property.
Situated at 3/7 Latrobe Street, Bayview, the abode was previously listed on market for varying durations in 2016/17 seeking $740,000.
The three bedroom two bathroom townhouse sold at auction on October 5.
It was listed as a rental in 2010 and 2012 seeking $650 per week.

Bayview's La Joie de Vivre, the original Bachelor house, is back for sale

The Dawson twin brothers shared the same Sydney neighbourhood in the early 1980s.
It was during the time when Lyn Dawson, the wife of the recently charged Chris Dawson, went missing in 1982.
The brothers owned in Bayview just two doors from each other on Gilwinga Drive — Chris at number 2 (pictured above) and Paul at 6 (pictured below).

The Dawsons each bought more than 4000 sqm of land on a Cambridge Credit housing subdivision to build large homes, which were completed around 1980.
Chris and Lyn paid $33,500 for their 4165 sqm parcel in 1976. Paul had paid $31,500 for 4060 sqm the same year, when with wife Marilyn they moved from the nearby Warriewood.
Both their wives were registered on the title. Chris transferred the property solely into his ownership in 1984, pursuant to court orders.
It was the same year Paul and Marilyn sold for $295,000. In 1986 Chris then sold his home for $285,000.
Paul’s former home last sold for $2.05 million in 2015, while Chris’s one-time house fetched $2.4 million just last year.

Resort-style Paris Spana-designed Bayview trophy home

Walker House, the luxury Bayview home of Chinese property developer Richard Gu, has new owners. It sold just hours before its scheduled recent mid-week auction.
Gu had paid $7.95 million for the home less than 12 months ago.
Walker House, completed under the ownership of the Walker family in 2007, had an $8.5 million guide through LJ Hooker Avalon agent Claudio Macolongo who was under instructions not to reveal the price or buyer.
The home with a 20 metre wet edge pool and championship size tennis court was based largely on the groundbreaking 1946 Kaufmann House in Palm Springs, California.
It has five bedrooms, five separate living zones, a gym, steam room and spa. Walker House was influenced by the designs of Richard Neutra and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Walker House, the contemporary coastal Bayview home influenced by the designs of Richard Neutra and Frank Lloyd Wright, is set to be traded for the second time in just over 12 months.
Set high within bushland with views across Pittwater, the striking five bedroom home swathed in glass has five separate living zones including a library, office, cinema and rumpus room.

Greg and Karen Walker commissioned Northern Beach architect Ray Fitz-Gibbon.

There's a gym and a steam room.
LJ Hooker Avalon Claudio Marcolongo, who is taking offers until May 22, says north facing properties of this quality, dimension and pedigree are rare.
It has a guide of $8.5 million.
It has been listed surplus to its Chinese entrepreneur's needs.

Walker House, Bayview set for second sale in just over a year

The former City of Sydney lord mayor Nelson Meers and his wife Carole are set to emerge as Point Piper buyers.
It is set to be be registered at $16 million, a tad higher than Domain's estimate of $15 million plus.
The purchase followed their Bayview home sale six months ago for $4.55 million.
Set on Buckhurst Avenue, the harbour front apartment was an investment for John Roth and his wife Jillian Segal, who bought it new in 2011 for $11.6 million.
The deal was done by LJ Hooker agent Bill Malouf.

Bayview is the most expensive locality in Northern Territory to purchase a house, according to a recent Investar report.
The property investment report says that the median price of a four bedroom house in Bayview is $900,000.
This is followed by Muirhead with $725,000 and Humpty Doo and Lyons with $700,000.
