Since launching the redevelopment of Moonee Valley Park back in 2019, Melbourne developer Hamton has continued to transform the racecourse surroundings into a $2 billion masterplan.

With everything going on at Moonee Valley Park in Moonee Ponds, Urban.com.au CEO Mike Bird sat down with Hamton Managing Director Matt Malseed to discuss the development.

Builder ICON recently kicked off construction of the latest stage of Moonee Valley Park, Trackside House, the first building in the precinct that overlooks the track back to the city. It will also have the only units that will overlook the finishing straight.

Malseed says one of the unique features of the masterplan is that all of the buildings are spread out.

"It isn't just one good side and one not so good side, there's incredible aspects all around our botanical park. The vision for the precinct is for a neighbourhood within a botanical park."

Trackside House will comprise just over 200 apartments across 11 levels.

Also under construction is Stonepine House, that includes 119 one, two and three-bedroom units.

Both buildings will have extensive resident amenity like a rooftop pool, hobby room, state of the art gym, and private dining areas which are bookable by the resident app.

Hamton has worked with Rothelowman for completed residential stages in the project. They're also working on Trackside and Stonepine House.

Cera Stribley has put plans together for the next stage of the precinct, which will be home a further 442 apartments to the growing community.
