A Surfers Paradise mansion built for the property veteran Max Christmas has been sold at auction for $5.3 million.
The sale comes four years after it initially hit the market.
Property records show at one point it came with a $9.85 million price tag.
The<a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-paradise+waters-123874550" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Commodore Drive </a>home was sold by Peter and Lisa Le Fanue, who paid $2.15 million for it 21 years ago.
A local buyer snapped up the sprawling residence built by Soheil Abedian, who co-founded development company Sunland Group, for Christmas back in the 1980s.
It was sold by Ray White Prestige Gold Coast agent Jackson Paradise.
The five bedroom, seven bathroom home attracted three registered bidders.

Commodore Drive, Paradise Waters trophy home sold at $5.3 million

Former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing world champion Mick Doohan is selling his long-held Paradise Waters investment property.

Doohan has owned the original 1970s home on the pricey Admiralty Drive for nearly three decades, having paid $510,000 back in 1991, shortly after he began his professional career on the track.

Currently tenanted, the home on 675 square metres on the exclusive Jaraparilla Cove has five bedrooms, a front courtyard and a north facing swimming pool.

Doohan, who won five consecutive 500cc World Championships, lives in the north of the Gold Coast in Coomera where he built his current home after paying $1.75 million for 18 hectares in 1996.

Motor Racing legend Mick Doohan lists at Paradise Waters

An architecturally designed Paradise Waters home has been sold off market to a local for a price believed to be above $8 million.
Ray White Surfers Paradise agent Michael Willems managed the sale.
The house at 22-24 Admiralty Drive, Paradise Waters was designed by American architect Edward Larrabee Barnes and originally built for the Matsushita family of Panasonic Electronics.

There's five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a fully equipped gym, steam room and a wine cellar with tasting room across its four levels which are all accessible by the internal lift.
The top floor entertainment precinct features a marble bar, billiards room and a 260 degree terrace.

Freight tycoon Clive Thomas and his wife, Lee, have listed their Paradise Waters trophy home which comes with a private white sandy beach.
Thomas paid $6.5 million for the waterfront in 2007.
