Two of the four residential towers at Far East Consortium's $2 billion destination precinct, West Side Place, soar high above their Spencer Street location on the western side of the Melbourne CBD.

Melbourne's biggest inner-city development at 1.2-hectares, West Side Place encompasses 97,000 sqm of floor space, with 2,895 apartments, Melbourne's first Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Dorsett hotel rooms, and a 500-seat ballroom, among several exclusive world-class amenities when all of the four towers are completed.

The first two towers, known as Tower 1 and Tower 2, house 1,376 apartments, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, a business centre, and a 550-seat grand ballroom.

The prestigious Ritz-Carlton hotel has private elevators, amenities, and a sky lobby on floor 79.

Meanwhile, Towers 3 and 4 comprise a further 1,519 apartments and a 308-room, 4-star Dorsett hotel.

Towers 1 and 2 are subdivided into three residences: the Garden, Central, and Sky Residences, each offering stunning views of Docklands and the Melbourne City skyline.

Garden and Central Residences enjoy access to three levels of residential amenities, while an additional level of amenity is exclusive to occupants of the Sky Residences.

The ground and the tower’s podium have lush garden plazas, shopping, an arcade, and a new central laneway with 30 food and beverage outlets place offerings right below the apartments.

The West Side Place precinct has over 3,000 sqm of ground-floor retail and 475 sqm of dedicated parkland and garden spaces throughout the new central laneway connecting Lonsdale Street with Little Lonsdale Street.

On levels six, seven and 10, resident amenities include:

  • A lounge with garden views
  • A pool with a steam room and sauna
  • A gymnasium with an open terrace; function, meeting, and reading rooms
  • A library
  • Two large open decks with seating and BBQ facilities
  • A private cinema
  • Karaoke and virtual golf facilities
  • Private dining and lounge areas

Level 11 provides additional residential amenities for Sky Residences and includes an exclusive pool with a steam room and sauna; a gym and wellness centre with yoga and Pilates equipment; a private dining and lounge areas with a chef’s room and a fireplace; a mahjong room; an executive club lounge with a library reading room; and exclusive cocktail and residents’ lounge.

West Side Place also boasts various sustainable features and has been awarded a 5-star Green Star Rating.

Some of the key environmentally conscious features included within the development are energy-efficient lighting, double glazing, and air-conditioning strategy, an embedded network allowing residents to purchase utilities at reduced rates from a single on-site retailer, water-efficient fixtures, fittings, and pool filtration, share car facilities, a shutdown switch next to every apartment entry door, rainwater storage tanks, and provision for electric vehicle (EV) charging.

First-home buyers have also looked to complete inner-city apartments to exit the rental market. West Side Place offers excellent value, and despite interest rates being higher than in the last few years, first-home buyers can still pay down a mortgage for less than what they're paying renting a similar apartment.

Designed by Cottee Parker Architects, West Side Place offers one, two, and three-bedroom apartments starting at $525,000.

Apartments are designed to maximise natural light and provide exceptional views over the city and Port Phillip Bay. Garden terraces and balconies also serve as an extension of internal living spaces.

West Side Place is within the University-High School Zone and only a few minutes walk to Flagstaff Garden, Southern Cross Station, and the Free Tram Zone.

Sports enthusiasts will also be delighted to be just a stone's throw from Marvel Stadium, while world-class attractions such as the National Gallery of Victoria, The Lume, and Crown are easily reachable from West Side Place.
