BLVD at Melbourne Square: An urban sanctuary in Southbank's cultural heart
It was 2015 when OSK Property announced it was to develop a $2.8 billion community on a prime two-hectare site in Melbourne's Southbank, the largest precinct ever proposed in the popular suburb south of the Yarra.
They're only two towers into the grand six-tower masterplan, and they've already lit a spark in property seekers looking for a combination of convenient amenity and lifestyle opportunities.
The project is already multi-award winning, having won the Best Mixed Use Development and the Best High Rise Architecture awards at the Asia Pacific Property Awards in 2020.
Locally Melbourne Square has been a finalist at the UDIA Awards for Excellence in 2021 and the Property Council Australia Awards in 2022.
OSK recently completed stage one of Melbourne Square, two towers already set in an established community with a 3,745 sqm park and double-storey Woolworths, the first in Melbourne, also completed as part of the first stage.
OSK has just launched their second stage, BLVD, another striking 73-level skyscraper with extensive resident amenity more commonly found in a hotel.
BLVD, which is expected to complete in early 2027, will sit within an already established community. OSK started their work on the Hoff Boulevard site in 2017, and to show for it have the completed East and West Towers, the sprawling Kennedy Park, and extensive retail within the development.
The retail component was bought by PrimeWest for $70 million back in 2020, a major transaction before it was completed which highlighted the level of quality OSK was putting together. As well as the Woolworths, there's an adjoining BWS, Pacific Asian grocery store, the 10 Hoff Café, an 87-place childcare centre, and more still to come.
Kennedy Park was created to act as a natural escape from busy city life. It features extensive established gardens and a waterfall, so residents can connect with nature.
BLVD sits at the heart of the masterplan, located on the fringe of Melbourne's famed Arts Precinct.
The Arts Precinct pulsates with a rich cultural energy, where Melbourne's most progressive, acclaimed, and dynamic galleries, theatres, performances, and exhibitions take centre stage all year round.
As the Arts Precinct redevelopment evolves, BLVD residents will find themselves at the heart of a globally-recognised cultural centre.
Southbank is one of the top locations for both investors and owner-occupiers who want all of the benefits of the Melbourne CBD without actually living in it.
It's a 15-minute walk to Flinders St station, or a 10-minute tram from the tram stop across the road on Sturt Street.
BLVD within Melbourne Square is poised to redefine urban living in Southbank. With its unparalleled location on the fringe of the Arts Precinct, immersive landscape design, and sustainable architecture, it presents a unique opportunity for residents to experience a tranquil urban sanctuary like no other. Melbourne Square is not just a place to live; it's a community that thrives on its rich cultural heritage and unrivalled amenities.
As the precinct continues to take shape, it solidifies its status as the epitome of cosmopolitan living in the heart of Melbourne.
OSK have further shown their commitment to Southbank, last year securing a 7,800 sqm site fronting both City Road and Queensbridge Street.
OSK was founded in 1997 in Malaysia and have won a string of awards for their developments across the country.
