The family development company, the Lacey Group, has lodged plans for its next Gold Coast apartment development.

Off the back of two successful sell-outs in Palm Beach and Kirra Beach in 2021, Lacey Group, headed by Adam Lacey, is taking on Bilinga, just north of Coolangatta, which seems to be the hottest spot for apartment developers at the moment.

They've lodged plans to the Gold Coast City Council for a 28-apartment project at 66 Pacific Parade, currently a walk-up block of original flats known as Serene.

The new 10-level tower has been designed by Plus Architecture on the block, on the corner of Pacific Parade and Archer Avenue, facing Joe Doniger Park and the beach.

There will be nine two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, which start from 104 sqm, and 16 three-bedders, which includes three two-level penthouses.

The resident amenity is on the ground level, where there's a wet edge pool and recreational area. Also on this level is one of the two-beds, which has its own private plunge pool in its 70 sqm of terracing.

There will be no more than three apartments per floor.

Plus say 66 Pacific Parade will be a timeless addition to Bilinga, facilitating a barefoot luxury lifestyles for its residents.

"Located moments from the beach, 66 Pacific Parade is designed to embrace the Bilinga lifestyle & add to the neighbourhoods character," Plus noted in their design statement to the Gold Coast City Council.

"28 beach homes within the buildings 10 levels are enveloped by sweeping curves.

"These articulate a soft integration between the building & its surrounding context, whilst creating panoramic view experiences for the residents within.

"Layered landscaping to the Pacific Parade & Archer Street frontages blend the ocean into the residents private recreation deck, pool & lounges.

"Considered design frames views, provides shading & provides privacy through the interplay of solid elements & feature batten screening. A natural & tonal palette utilised throughout speaks true to the character & aesthetic of the designs context.

Lacey Group had a stellar 2021, selling out The Monroe in Palm Beach and Del Ray in Kirra, both of which were snapped up by the database.

Given the speed of the sales, Lacey fast-tracked construction, having Hutchinsons start building the luxury projects, both of which were also designed by Plus.

Bilinga has been a hotspot for developers since the end of 2021.

Late last year Mosaic, the prominent South East Queensland developer, kicked off a wave of development applications, submitting plans for a boutique project of 13 apartments at 1 Surf Street.

Another Brisbane-based developer, Cielo Group, recently launched Bloom Bilinga, securing a substantial amount of enquiry for the sub $2 million apartments.
