Incoming Manly Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett and his wife, Kylie have sold their Shellharbour district home for $2.4 million.

The Barrack Point home sale follows Barrett's appointment last month as Manly coach for the 2016 season, replacing Geoff Toovey.

Barrett paid $904,000 for the house on oceanfront reserve Headland Parade in 2004. They have lived there continuously, except for in 2007 and 2008 when they resided in England.

After renovation work to create a six-bedroom, three-bathroom home with ocean views, the property set a suburb record.

There was a $2 million record set last November for an oceanfront house in nearby Junction Road.

It sold through Ray White Shellharbour.
