Celebrity chef Guillaume Brahimi new Watsons Bay digs

Boston Consulting Group senior partner and managing director David Tapper and his partner Dr Chantal Gianni have spent $10 million on a home in Watsons Bay.
They secured the transformed 1950s property earlier this year on delayed settlement terms.
It was the home of Fabio Zarfati, the Lamborghini expert who owns Rose Bay Automotive.
He had paid $7.5 million for the Short Street home in late 2016 and called in interior designer Victoria Chapman to renovate the four-level, four-bedroom property.
It features a harbour view master suite, a home office and a bespoke wine cellar.

Boston Consulting boss David Tapper buys $10 million Watson Bay home

Recruitment power couple Joel Barbuto and Shayne Coffey, bosses at Gough Recruitment, have pulled their Watsons Bay house from auction.
Barbuto and Coffey had reimagined the weatherboard fisherman’s cottage with pool that dates back to the 1840s.
It has $4 million hopes.

Recruitment power couple make Watsons Bay moves

Doyles have another chance to expand their Watsons Bay fish empire with the listing of an adjoining home.
The property at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-watsons+bay-130648594" target="_blank">2 Cliff Street</a> was under the watchful eye of the Doyle family when it last traded for $1.26 million in 2003, but the vendor, whose family had owned the property for 100 years, refused to sell to the fish giant.
“The previous owner of my home refused to sell to Doyles as the property had been in her family for 100 years," said former small business owner Alex Mestanov, the current vendor of the three bedroom home.
Mestanov secured approval for a three storey development on the property to take advantage of the harbour views and soar above Doyle's main restaurant, which is located infront of the property on the water.
The home actually sits within the Doyle's carpark, who approached Mestanov with a $3 million bid in 2008, when the property wasn't for sale.

The plans are for a mixed-use apartment complex, a penthouse, a two level house style apartment and a 20 seat cafe on the 325 sqm site.
Mestanov tried to sell the site in 2015, but couldn't find a buyer at $5.2 million.
He's now called on Ray White Double Bay agent Evan Williams, who is marketing the home in conjunction with Australian Prime Realty's Tony Braham.
They have a March 28 auction, with no guide, however prices nearby have ranged anywhere between $3 million and $5 million. A recent Cliff Street sale sold for $5 million.
“This original Watsons Bay freestanding home presents a blue chip redevelopment prospect in an iconic location mere steps from the harbour foreshore,” said Williams.

Braham says there are a number of possibilities for the property.
“It offers scope for significant future capitalisation, with the possibility to completely renovate or knock down and build a boutique apartment complex," Braham said.
"Alternatively, take advantage of the Special Purpose Tourist Zoning (SP3) which allows development for Tourist and Visitor Accommodation purposes (STCA),” said Tony Braham.

The Pacific Street home on 1,175 square metres has four bedrooms, each with an ensuite and balcony access from the top level.
On the lower level there's a six car garage, a rumpus room with adjoining bar and a sauna, as well as another private covered terrace.
The harbour level of the home features a gym, cellar and swimming pool which is set near the water next to the manicured lawn and gardens.
There had been unconfirmed reports that the buyer was Anthony Halas of swimwear brand Seafolly fame and his wife, Andrea, with confirmation coming on its official mid-December settlement.
The Halas family secured $18.6 million <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/94216-news-boss-buys-back-in-bellevue-hill-as-prestige-market-cools" target="_blank">when News Corp boss Michael Miller upgraded in Bellevue Hill</a>.
The Halas family sold their stake in Seafolly in 2014 to LVMH, having became the world’s largest independent specialty swimwear brand.

Nutribullet CEO Colin Sapire sells Watsons Bay holiday home

Book publisher Niki Zubrzycki's cute cottage in Watsons Bay has been snappily sold.
The <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-watsons+bay-127855946" target="_blank">home on 239 square metres</a> came with a $4.6 million to $5 million price guide. 
It was best known as the longtime home of the artist John Olsen, who lived in the former harbourmaster's house while painting his first commissioned piece, Five Bells.
Olsen lived with his wife Valerie, and children, Tim and Louise, at the Cliff Street cottage in the 1960s and 1970s.
It last sold at $340,000 in 1987 when bought by Niki Zubrzycki and her husband John, author of the fascinating history The Last Nizam: An Indian Prince In The Australian Outback.
In 2008 designer John Normyle was commissioned to create its open-plan living spaces.

Clinton Murray-designed beach house listed at Watsons Bay

Bidding opened at $8.5 million when a timewarp Watsons Bay beachfront was put under the BradfieldCleary hammer at auction tonight.
The <a href="https://bradfieldcleary.com.au/6528264/17-victoria-street-watsons-bay" target="_blank">deep 524 sqm street-to-beachfront block</a> had not sold for nine decades.
The north facing holding with direct access onto Camp Cove beach was knocked down after very strong bidding at $14.2 million.
There were the five bidders for the Pitt-Webb family deceased estate holding at 17 Victoria Street, which had a recent Valuer General valuation of about $8.5 million.

One of the registered parties was a family member, auctioneer Damien Cooley revealed under auction regulations.
It currently features a single level semi-detached weatherboard cottage with garage and boatshed and steps to the beach.
It was listed by Brenton Gadsby at BradfieldCleary in conjunction with Donna Burke at Bickmore-Hutt Realty.
Most of the interested parties were playing their cards close to their chest, although the top bidder was a veteran auction room player.
But the intentions or possibly just who the prominent Sydney property developer Philip Wolanski was representing remain unconfirmed. 
Over the decades Victoria Street has been a magnate for influential owners including the neighbouring retail magnate Steven Lowy.
Other owners through the years have included adman John Singleton, the Smart family, solicitor Bill Blackshaw, accountant Ian Ferrier, the Cawood family, developer Vaughan Blank, the former Sydney head of the Swiss commodities trader Glencore, the Arve family and the entrepreneur Sam Linz.
