Artist John Olsen's former Watsons Bay home sold
Book publisher Niki Zubrzycki's cute cottage in Watsons Bay has been snappily sold.
The home on 239 square metres came with a $4.6 million to $5 million price guide.
It was best known as the longtime home of the artist John Olsen, who lived in the former harbourmaster's house while painting his first commissioned piece, Five Bells.
Olsen lived with his wife Valerie, and children, Tim and Louise, at the Cliff Street cottage in the 1960s and 1970s.
It last sold at $340,000 in 1987 when bought by Niki Zubrzycki and her husband John, author of the fascinating history The Last Nizam: An Indian Prince In The Australian Outback.
In 2008 designer John Normyle was commissioned to create its open-plan living spaces.
