<p>Famed trophy stud property Luskin Park along with its entire bloodstock holdings in the Hunter Valley, Luskintyre has been sold for $2,250,000.</p>
<p>It was purchased by the company of Matthew C Smith, the Warwick Farm-based horse trainer and his wife, Melissa.</p>
<p>The decision to sell the entire bloodstock holdings of Luskin Park Stud came after the death of the of proprietor Paul Whelan last October.</p>
<p>It was the birthplace of champions including Golden Slipper winner Luskin Star and more recently the G1 winners Foxwedge and Rock Classic.</p>
<p>The homestead, located at 110 Knockfin Road, was on a 46-hectare holding on the bank of the Hunter River, located a two-hour drive north of Sydney.</p>

<p>It was expected to sell for between $2.5 million and $3 million.</p>
<p>The property, historically a thoroughbred stud, also offers high quality grazing land suitable for running cattle or growing lucerne.</p>

Hunter Valley trophy stud, Luskin Park sold

<p>Mining tycoon Nathan Tinkler’s Richmond Grove thoroughbred stud farm in the NSW upper Hunter Valley is close to a $9.2 million sale, according to The Australian.</p>
<p>It cost around $26 million to amalgamate.</p>
<p>The sale will see billionaire retailer Gerry Harvey secure the last $10 million owed by Mr Tinkler, who was declared bankrupt this year.</p>
<p>Richmond Grove is a 1337ha stud farm amalgamating seven adjoining properties at Sandy Hollow.</p>
<p>According to Neil Cussen, partner with administrator Deloitte, the listing agent Chris Meares has two interested parties.</p>

Tinkler horse stud close to $9 million plus sale

<p>Veteran investor Charles Curran has listed the Springdale horse stud near Canowindra in the Lachlan Valley in central western NSW.</p>
<p>Curran, who will turn 80 this year, maintains investments in shares, property and rural assets. </p>

<p>It is being marketed by Chris Meares at Meares &amp; Associates who expects between $3.3 million and $3.6 million given interest from the horse world, as well as from commercial lucerne farmers or rural lifestyle investors.</p>
<p>Springdale includes a four-bedroom brick home in established gardens, along with a brick horse complex including six stables and separate grooms' quarters.</p>
