The $250 million redevelopment on the former Le Cornu site at North Adelaide has been given planning approval.

The State Commission Assessment Panel (SCAP) approved construction of three apartment towers set above two levels of retail, hospitality and commercial space at 88 O&rsquo;Connell St.

The tallest tower will be 15 storeys, the highest building outside of the Adelaide CBD.

The other two buildings will be 13 levels.

The 7560sq m site is set to be developed by Commercial &amp; General in a joint venture with Adelaide City Council, which paid $34 million for the site in 2017.

Each of the towers will have four penthouse apartments with rooftop pools above another 180 apartments.&nbsp;

They will comprise 28 one-bedroom, 125 two-bedroom and 19 three-bedroom apartments across the three towers.

Three split-levels of basement parking will include 394 spaces.

The Adelaide Advertiser reported site works have started for a display apartment which is expected to open in September.

Commercial &amp; General executive chairman Jamie McClurg noted the site had been a blank canvas &quot;sitting there for the majority of my adult life just waiting to be done.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Eighty Eight O'Connell, Le Cornu, North Adelaide site gets three tower redevelopment approval

It sold for its asking price after 51 days on the market.
Set on 570 sqm, it has two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open plan family and dining area.
The dining space opens to a rear verandah and the yard on 570 sqm.
Paralowie has a <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/7136-paralowie-sa" target="_blank">median house price</a> of $302,000, according to CoreLogic.

Paralowie mortgagee secures $209,000

North Adelaide home listed by mortgagee set for February auction

A North Adelaide home that was once the private residence of Rupert Murdoch's family has been listed for sale.
Offered for the first time in 35 years, the <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-sa-north+adelaide-129327646" target="_blank">Tynte Street property</a> dates back to 1850 when printer David Gall bought the land, soon after his arrival in South Australia.
A year later he erected a simple two-roomed stone cottage. 
In 1866 he had masons Newman and Whitford and Chapman, a carpenter, turn the home into a two storey residence. It was built of Adelaide limestone with brick dressings.
Gall was a founding member of the Chamber of Manufacturers. He was a protectionist, and opposed to free-trade between the colonies. He printed a monthly journal The Comet advocating his beliefs.
