The Burwood Brickworks residential community has reached a new milestone with all four apartment buildings currently under construction officially “topped out” this week.
Frasers Property Australia’s newest community in Melbourne’s east is currently  three weeks ahead of schedule.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager Residential Victoria for Frasers Property Australia says the topping out milestone is great news for residents eager to move in.
“It’s fantastic to see the progress of all four apartment buildings and it means we will welcome the first of our new apartment residents by Christmas,” Ms Bloom says.
The buildings comprise 267 apartments in total and are being constructed by Hacer Group. Hacer Group will now complete the interior of the buildings with the first apartments expected to be completed in December.
The apartments have proven popular with buyers at the mixed-use community, with just two apartments remaining for sale.

To date, the apartments have attracted a range of buyers from first-home buyers, to empty-nesters, families and investors. 
The two apartments still for sale are premium two-bedroom apartments and include two bathrooms, two car spaces and north-facing views of the Urban Plaza and village green, priced at $745,000. 
The next and final apartment precinct at Burwood Brickworks is currently in planning stages.

Burwood Brickworks tops out ahead of schedule

More than 80 per cent of homes in <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/frasers-property">Fraser Property Australia</a>’s master-planned community, <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/burwood-brickworks-set-to-become-the-worlds-most-sustainable-retail-development">Burwood Brickworks</a>, has sold prior to launch of the second last residential release. 

Situated on Copper Crescent in Victoria’s Burwood East, the Park Crescent release consists of four and five-bedroom homes. Ranging in size from 194 sqm to 269 sqm, the homes are priced from $1.18 million.  

Designed by <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/architects/dko-architecture">DKO architects</a>, the residences offer open-plan living, outdoor spaces and energy efficiency. The residences include a smart design, photovoltaic panels, solar hot water systems, and water-saving features.

Fraser Property’s Sarah Bloom said the Park Crescent residences had appealed to owner-occupier families.  

“The majority of buyers have been local who have been holding out for this particular Burwood Brickworks release, buoyed by the premium location combined with all the features that make it fitting for a growing family home”, she said.

Only six homes in the release remain, which are anticipated to sell quickly.  

“The majority of homes in our last release sold out on the launch weekend so we urge interested buyers to get in quick,” Bloom said. 

Burwood Bricks expects to begin welcoming residents in early 2021.

Victoria’s master-planned community, Burwood Brickworks, nears sell-out of latest release

On today's episode, I sit down with <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/architects/hayball">Hayball's</a> Sarah Buckeridge and Andrew Moulding to discuss the office's work on Frasers Property's Burwood Brickworks project in <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/burwood-east-vic">Burwood East</a>. 

<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/frasers-property">Frasers Property</a> is redeveloping the 20.5ha former brickworks site into a mixed-use precinct comprising a commercial and retail shopping centre with a rooftop ‘urban farm’, a range of residential buildings including townhouses and apartments, set amongst a high quality public realm of green spaces. All development on the site is being designed to achieve a 5-star Green Star Communities certification.

Hayball is undertaking both the masterplanning and architectural design elements of four apartment buildings – the Garden Apartments - located on a 1.2ha parcel of land in the heart of the new precinct adjoining a shared urban plaza. In total, 267 apartments will be delivered across the six-storey buildings, with a café at the base of one of the apartments (Plaza Gardens) and a basement car park.
