An insight into Burswood Point, Perth's biggest ever housing project: Five minutes with David Dragun from Golden Sedayu
The largest mixed-use urban development Perth has ever seen is underway in Burswood, with developer Golden Sedayu recently launching their 10-year masterplan, Burswood Point.
Burswood Point will see the 38-hectares around the Belmont Racecourse redeveloped to home 4,500 new dwellings, including apartments and riverfront homes, as well as a full retail and commercial precinct with restaurants, markets, riverside parks, shopping centers, and luxury hotels.
With everything going on at Burswood Point, I caught up with Golden Sedayu Sales Director, David Dragun, to talk in-depth about Burswood Point and the vision.
Dragun said that the team has worked closely with the local council and government to bring this huge project to life. With the country in a bit of a housing crunch, having a development this big is a huge plus for Perth.
The first stage, Somerset West, has already seen strong interest on the 95 one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments released.
The three-level green title homes include luxury features such as elevators, making them particularly appealing to downsizers seeking long-term living solutions.
Residents will also have access to a range of amenities, including a 25-meter lap infinity pool, gym, sauna, and residents' dining areas.
The project’s scale helps keep strata fees manageable, ensuring affordability while offering high-end facilities. Additionally, the development will feature a mix of retail and commercial spaces, including a café and grocery.
Dragun emphasised the project's appeal to both local and international buyers, with interest coming from across Australia, particularly from the East Coast.
The proximity to key entertainment hubs, the airport, universities, and the city makes Burswood Point a prime location for those seeking a balanced lifestyle.
Perth continues to lead the market in capital growth and projects like Burswood Point are expected to see substantial value increases over time.
