Tomorrow Northcote: A fusion of functionality, sustainability, and discerning design
Melbourne's inner-north will soon gain a new architectural gem with the arrival of Tomorrow Northcote.
Currently under construction, the MAP Architecture-designed residences embody a fresh perspective on living, emphasising functionality, sustainability, and amenity in their design.
MAP have blended the essence of Northcote's eclectic housing styles into the architectural form of Tomorrow with the result being a residence that coexists with its surroundings.
The material palette employed in the façade, with its contemporary timber-look battens and highly efficient glazing, lends a subdued yet modern touch to the exterior.
The residences have been designed to flood the living spaces with natural light and establish connections to private garden areas or terrace oases.
The landscapes surrounding Tomorrow also play a vital role in creating a feeling of unity and belonging. Landscape architect John Patrick has infused the gardens with greenery that adds verticality and depth to the building. Trailing plants cover the balconies, while a curated selection of flora responds to the climate and character of Northcote at large.
Tomorrow's interior design has been guided by principles of simplicity and flexibility, with the spaces within each residence are designed to adapt and grow along with the residents themselves.
The living spaces feature large, light-filled areas, thanks to double-glazed, full-height sliding doors that create a seamless visual and physical link between the indoors and the outdoors.
