Camberwell's newest apartment development reflects the current architecture within the small eastern suburb of Melbourne.

The collection of 11 residences, slated for completion this year, have been crafted by the team at Splinter Society in collaboration with renowned landscape architect John Patrick to honor Camberwell's rich residential fabric while incorporating a distinct contemporary edge.

The asymmetrical rooftops, reminiscent of neighbouring heritage homes, offer a subtle nod to tradition while showcasing a refreshing twist.

“This collection of residences has been designed to capture the essence of Camberwell’s most stately brick residences, and combine it with a modern elegance and sophistication to match the best of Melbourne’s contemporary design," said Splinter Society Director, Chris Stanley.

The residences use a combination of classic materials such as brick, timber, and concrete, with expansive glazing accentuating carved out recesses, creating a play of light and shadow. Landscaped gardens are set around the facade, softening the built form while also connecting the building to the natural setting.

The seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces is a defining feature of Martin Rise's design, with the minimalist aesthetic, layered with textures, creating a sense of harmony between the two realms.

Inside, the mid-century interiors pay homage to the raw and tactile materials that form the foundation, with soft, warm ambient lighting juxtaposed with neutral hues.

The open-plan living areas feature full-height glazing, flooding the space with natural light, while also blurring the boundaries between inside and out. With a neutral colour palette serving as a canvas for individual expression, residents are encouraged to infuse their unique style into the space.

Adjacent to the living area, the kitchen at Martin Rise merges functionality with sustainability. Marble finishes are coupled with sustainable appliances, premium fixtures, and integrated storage, in addition to a gas fireplace.

The master ensuites bathe in natural light through full-height windows, with plush wool carpets and spacious walk-in robes coupled with well-articulated ensuites that feature floor-to-ceiling bespoke tiling.

Two and three-bedroom apartments can still be purchased in Martin, with prices starting from $1.172 million.
