The surge in popularity of apartment living nationwide has brought to light a growing concern among buyers - the decline in availability of family-sized apartments.

Despite the fact that nearly half of all apartment occupants have children, recent years have witnessed a decrease in the proportion of larger living spaces, presenting challenges for families in search of suitable housing options.

However, Salter Brothers are poised to address the issue, providing a glimmer of hope with their latest development, Candela.

With families in mind, their new project aims to alleviate the scarcity of family-sized apartments, offering a solution to those seeking adequate and spacious living arrangements in the midst of a changing housing landscape.

With its four distinct product offerings – Aurora, Brillante, Halo, and Lustre collections – Candela presents unique layouts and a wide range of price points, ensuring there is something for every type of buyer, with their family living options a highlight of the project.

The Halo offering is Candela's most popular three-bedroom design, pitched at growing families or downsizers who still want a bit of space.

The single level apartments boast large open plan kitchen, living and dining areas, with a dedicated area for a home office or study space.

Full-sized kitchens have been incorporated, with large storage cupboards, coupled with stone island benches, double sinks and Miele appliances, including a dishwasher and refrigerator. The kitchens also feature large walk through pantries, with double pantry cupboards, shelving and bench space for food preparation and appliance storage.

The second and third bedrooms, both of which are generously sized feature large walk-in robes, while the expansive master bedrooms are positioned on the opposite side of the apartments for maximum privacy, with large walk-in robes, built-in vanity dressers and an oversized en-suite, which is complete with a freestanding bath and twin vanities.

There's also unique four-bedroom loft-style apartments on offer at Candela, with the double-storey residences designed to suit a young growing family, multi-generational family living or couples looking for a lock-and-leave lifestyle with extra space and room for their guests.

Level one of these homes feature fully-equipped kitchens, with island benches, double sinks and Miele appliances, along with dining areas that can comfortably seat 8-10 people, a laundry room and a powder room.

Connecting to expansive open plan lounge areas, which feature double-storey glazing to allow for an abundance of natural light and ventilation, are large outdoor terraces, with ample space for play equipment or barbecue facilities.

The master bedroom is also located on level one, provided with access to the outdoor terrace, complete with walk-in wardrobes and built-in vanity dressing tables.

Stepping up to level two, there's a loft living zone, lounge/entertaining area, powder room, dedicated study desk area, as well as three-bedroom with built-in robes. The master bathroom is also on this level, designed as a wet area, with the bath and shower combined.

Candela's Lustre residences offer double-level living and a terrace large enough for family entertaining, play equipment, and barbecue facilities, with the family-sized homes coming in at under $1.5 million.

The lower levels feature a large fully-equipped kitchen with an island bench and seating, double sink, high-quality Miele appliances, and an expansive walk-in pantry, while the open-plan living area boasts timber floorboards, floor-to-ceiling double-glazed windows, and a laundry room with a convenient laundry chute.

The expansive terrace and powder rooms provide additional space in the homes, while the master bedroom on the lower level offers its own access to the terrace, along with an oversized en-suite bathroom, walk-in robe, and built-in dressing table.

The upper levels provide dedicated space for additional family members or guests, with a large lounge and entertaining area featuring plush wool carpets, as well as a dedicated study space, laundry chute, powder room, three bedrooms with built-in robes, and a master bathroom designed as a wet area combining both bath and shower.

There are just three one-bedroom apartments available in the Aurora collection. The apartments are anything but standard, featuring a formal entrance and two spacious living areas that boast a west-facing aspect, providing ample natural light.

The fully equipped kitchen, complete with high-end Miele appliances, an island bench with built-in breakfast bar, and a full-sized dishwasher, will satisfy the needs of even the most discerning cook. The open-plan living area features beautiful timber floorboards and a separate dining area, while the bedroom offers plush wool carpets and a separate TV or study space.

The cherry on top? An oversized undercover balcony, perfect for taking in the surrounding scenery.

Two-bedroom apartments are on offer in the Brilliante collection, providing two bathrooms and ample living space.

The fully equipped kitchens come complete with a full-sized dishwasher and high-end Miele appliances, including a refrigerator, as well as an island bench with seating provision, a built-in pantry and storage cupboards.

The living areas are large and open with timber floorboards, while the bedrooms boast plush wool carpets for added comfort. The master bedrooms are a standout feature in the Brilliante apartments, complete with an ensuite bathroom, double built-in robes, and a unique curved wall that can be used for a TV, study, or nursery area.

The kitchens, with ample storage and double sinks, are equipped with a full-sized dishwasher and high-end Miele appliances, including a refrigerator, while the island benches provide seating space and is paired with a walk-in double pantry that offers even more storage and extra bench space.
