Melbourne developer Golden Age Group knew landscaping was paramount at their new Glen Waverley townhouse development Floret.

They had Aspect Studios design the surroundings of the 77 Rothelowman-designed townhouses and the wider 2.5-hectare development on Ferntree Gully Road.

Floret extensively features nature and green spaces throughout, which ASPECT Senior Associate, Erwin Taal, said was designed with the experience of use in mind.

"The approach we’ve taken for Floret here at Glen Waverley, is we have a central garden space which is more of the community hub of the development," Taal said.

"Within this space we’ve created a series of different landscape experiences so that you can be sitting within an open air space, or you can be tucked away in a corner with your friends and family, having a conversation, having a barbecue and enjoying the beautiful outdoor environment."

The verdant landscapes create a lush backdrop for the townhomes. The interplay between the built and natural environments sets Floret apart, offering residents an oasis of tranquillity in the heart of Glen Waverley.

"One of the things we’ve tried to really emphasis within Floret is the absence of fences," Taal added.

"We just wanted to have the natural flow of the landscape from the townhouses out into the common areas. We like to have fun designing some elements in the landscape, after all a landscape is meant to be about enjoyment and about fun, and about the experiences that we don’t necessarily design for.”

Construction started on Floret earlier this year, having sold around 90 per cent of the first stage of the development.

Completion of Floret is expected to be in Q1 2025.
