South Melbourne is about to witness the birth of a groundbreaking mixed-use community that promises to redefine the concept of sustainable living.

The Canopy at 272 Normanby Road, the visionary project developed by the renowned Gamuda Land and supported by a team of local experts, is on the brink of commencing construction, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in the group's development history.

Strategically located in close proximity to South Melbourne Market, Crown Casino, and the CBD, The Canopy offers the perfect balance between urban vibrancy and tranquility.

At the heart of The Canopy lies a commitment to authentic, meaningful sustainability, evident in its design and incorporation of biophillic principles.

Residents will be greeted by an urban forest, a captivating green spine, and an inviting rooftop garden, providing a serene sanctuary amidst the bustling cityscape.

The 20-storey landmark will be home to over 200 apartments upon completion in 2025, with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom residences.

Along with the apartments, The Canopy will also include a 3,000 sqm park, boasting Melbourne's first urban Miyawaki forest, with the embrace of nature and incorporation of Indigenous Australian references paying homage to the site's surroundings and local environment.

With a 5 Star Green Star sustainability target and an impressive 7.5 Average NatHERS rating, this community aims to minimise its environmental impact and provide residents with a truly eco-friendly living experience.

A range of amenities will be on offer at The Canopy, including an onsite e-mobility hub, complete with EV charging stations, reflecting the community's forward-thinking approach to sustainable transport.

Residents are also set to benefit from smart access and home automation in their apartments, as well as a rooftop Onsen-inspired spa, alfresco dining, and barbecue facilities.
