Buyer Handbook: A buyer's guide to AVJenning's Williamstown apartment development, Merchant Apartments
Merchant Apartments is the final residential apartment development in AVJennings' Williamstown masterplan, Waterline Place.
Merchant will deliver 125 apartments across two seven-storey buildings when it's completed in mid-2024. It sits in the heart of the masterplan, which, when AVJennings started to develop over 10 years, wanted to become 'a village within a village'.
It's a vision which is quickly coming to fruition with Waterline Place already home to a number of apartment buildings and striking architecturally-designed townhouses.
Renowned architecture firm Elenberg Fraser designed Merchant Apartments with the community in mind. The project comprises one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as an exclusive Sky Home collection occupying the upper floors of the two buildings.
Elenberg Fraser Interior Designer Kate Shaw said Merchant’s fluid undulant-shaped façade reflects light in a way that is reminiscent of the reflection of the sun off rippling water.
“Textural concrete walls intentionally bound the building to the east and west, angled to direct view lines towards the horizon,” Shaw says.
The building also homes a ground floor retail space and is crowned by a communal rooftop with sweeping views of the city and Hobsons Bay.
The inclusion of a variety of Indigenous and exotic vegetation complements the architectural design and thrives within the climate.
Location is a key highlight of Waterline Place, situated 12 kilometres from the CBD and a short walk from Williamstown Train Station, making it an excellent choice for those who work in the city but prefer a more suburban lifestyle.
Investors have started to show an interest in the building as it approaches completion. CoreLogic data shows units have from 6.31 per cent in the 12 months to July.
