The top 15 architecture practices referenced on the Urban.com.au Project Database
Architects. They're the glue in the development process: interpreting, balancing and binding the various capitalist, creative and regulatory inclinations, goals and motivations. This special role that architects play ensures there's quite a lot of them if a city is pivoting toward a medium and high density development future like Melbourne is.
Our project database has over 200 different firms that are linked to at least one project. The following list looks at the architecture firms who are most frequently referenced.
Together they are responsible for 39% of all projects and the raw numbers as listed in the Data Portal are 315 out of a total 805 projects at time of writing.
Fast fact: the top five referenced firms are responsible for an eye-popping 33% of all dwellings (30,000 out of 91,000) listed across all the various project phases on the database.
