Zeehan, Tasmania had the nation's lowest 2018 median house values

The lowest median house values in Australia this year were in Zeehan on the West Coast of Tasmania, according to CoreLogic's end of year report.

The town's median came in at $71,184.

Three of the top four localities with the lowest median house values were in the West Coast council region of Tasmania with third lowest being Queenstown ($74,961) and fourth lowest being Rosebery ($75,858).

They had higher values than in Peterborough, SA which had the second lowest median at $71,880.

Zeehan also had the ninth highest Gross rental yield nationally at 12.5%.

An example of the median house value in this region of Tasmania being at this level is 3 Emma Street, Zeehan (pictured above).

This two bedroom, one bathroom house sold for $67,000 earlier this year.

The property features four parking spots.
