The league legend Steve Mortimer and wife, Karen are whispered to have snapped up a Goulburn district weekender.

Pyree Park is a blue stone cottage on a 13 hectare Chatsbury holding with established gardens.

Pyree Park sold for $715,000 through Elders agent David Medina who had $650,000 plus hopes. Last sold at $530,000 in 2005, it was an old schoolhouse dating from the 1890s.

There's a two stand shearing shed with power and cattle yards along with six paddocks.

Mortimer left the Canterbury Bulldogs Leagues Club board in the recent upheaval. Born at Yagoona, in the heart of Bulldog territory, has lived at Illawong with Woronora River views since 2010.
