Six-bedroom Brighton trophy home the week's most expensive sale

A six-bedroom home in Brighton was the most expensive sale for the week ending June 23, selling at auction for $4,235,000, according to RP Data.

However two sales in Sydney's Coogee and Freshwater are likely to have exceded the Brighton price, but agents have kept their sale price as withheld.

The Hanby Street Brighton property (pictured below) features a timber and iron handcrafted entry door, landscaped gardens and poolside alfresco entertaining.

The kitchen boasts travertine marble stone bench tops and a freestanding French lacanche cooker.

A 35-square-metre basement is large enough for six cars and also includes a communications room, gym and a music/games room.

James Buyers Advocate said more than 70 people attended the June 22 auction and it was a bid off between three bidders.

Auctioneer Russell Cambridge called for an opening bid of $4 million, however was met with a $3.8 million offer from bidder one.

The first bidder secured the sale after outbidding the two other bidders.

The 890-square-metre property was listed through Trudy Biggin of Biggin and Scott.
