The veteran bookmaker and former VFL player Simon Beasley and his wife, Merrie, have listed their South Yarra apartment with $7.5 million hopes.

The 2015-built three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment was designed by Allan Powell with interiors by Lombard and Jack for the Hudson Conway project.

The Marne Street apartment was bought for $5.74 million off the plan in 2013. All nine apartments sold prior to construction through Kay & Burton's Gerald Delany extensive off-market contact book.

It marked a return to South Yarra for the champion 1980s Footscray full-forward who had previously been in a Domain Road, South block developed by Sam Beck which they sold for $8.13 million in 2013 having paid $3.98 million in 2007.
