Refinery House, heritage CSR site home sold

Kokoda Property founder Mark Stevens has emerged as the $4.95 million buyer of Refinery House, a riverfront home in Brisbane's New Farm.

Refinery House was the only stand-alone residence created during the 2004 transformation of the heritage-listed CSR sugar refinery.

Set in the Cutters Landing precinct, the home last traded in 2004 when Margot McKinney, one of Australia’s best fine jewellery designers, and husband Peter Kedwell paid $2.5 million from developers Mirvac.

Featuring exposed brick, timber beams and cast-iron columns, the 600 sqm home in private landscaped gardens has four bedrooms and a climate controlled wine cellar.

The home was advertised by LJ Hooker New Farm agent Brett Greensill as having the potential to rival some of the finest Brownstones of New York or London

Stevens, a former director at Jeans West, founded Brisbane-based Kokoda Property in 1997.
