West Village: Living heritage village in Brisbane's West End

Nestled in the heart of Brisbane's West End, a community steeped in rich history awaits, with Sekisui House Australia in the process of delivering their $1.1 billion precinct, West Village.

As West Village continues to evolve and grow, it is set to become a thriving hub that seamlessly integrates the past with the present, integrates residential, commercial, retail, and recreational spaces.

At the centre of this 2.6-hectare precinct lie the heritage-listed former Peters Ice Cream factories, a testament to the area's industrial past. West Village will deliver up to 1,200 residences during it's construction phase, along with 20,000 sqm of commercial space, an 18,000 sqm retail precinct, and one hectare of open parklands and heritage laneways.

Community is at the heart of West Village, and the precinct comes alive with a variety of events throughout the year. From the annual Brisbane Ice Cream Festival that pays homage to the site's ice cream-making heritage to pizza and pinot evenings, gardening workshops, and fashion events, there's always something abuzz in the village.

Within West Village, residents have access to a range of amenities designed to enhance their everyday lives. The 24/7 Goodlife Health Club, located on Mollison Street, ensures that fitness and well-being are easily accessible. A Woolworths supermarket and BWS bottle shop provide convenient shopping options, while a Terry White Chemist caters to residents' healthcare needs. Additionally, a diverse array of eateries, including Anita Gelato, Ichiban Sushi, Betty's Burgers, Cheeky Poke, Beirut Bazaar, Ippin Japanese Dining, Yamas Greek and Dining, Italian Street Kitchen, and Picnic Cafe, offer a delightful culinary experience within the precinct.

Beyond West Village, residents enjoy a wealth of amenities within easy reach. The bustling Brisbane CBD, located a mere 800 meters away, offers an abundance of retail, dining, health, and wellness services. Just across the road from West Village lies the Boundary Street Precinct, known for its vibrant food and entertainment options. Moreover, the Brisbane River, located nearby, provides a picturesque setting for leisure activities and relaxation.

Residents of West Village are also in close proximity to several prominent institutions and attractions. The Queensland Performing Arts Centre, a hub for entertainment and culture, is within reach, as are Griffith University, South Bank Parklands, and Brisbane State High School.

Additionally, across the river, one can find Suncorp Stadium, the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Roma Street Parklands and Station, the Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library and Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Queensland University of Technology, and the Brisbane Botanical Gardens.

Transportation is also a breeze for West Village residents. The proximity to the Airport Bypass ensures easy access for those traveling out of state or abroad, adding an extra layer of convenience.

The diverse range of schools, including West End State Primary School, Brisbane State High School, Somerville House School for Girls, and St. Laurence's College, ensures that families have access to quality education options in the vicinity. The University of the Sunshine Coast, South Bank Campus, TAFE QLD, South Bank Campus, Griffith University, South Bank Campus, James Cook University, Brisbane Campus, Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point Campus, and the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus, are also all within reasonable distance, providing ample opportunities for higher education.

Healthcare is another aspect that West Village residents can take comfort in. With a range of hospitals within a convenient radius, including 11 hospitals offering private, public, and specialised children's services, residents have access to quality medical care, including the nearby Queensland Children's Hospital and St Andrew's Hospital.

For those seeking culinary delights, the Melbourne Street Food Precinct is a mere 650 meters away, offering a vibrant selection of dining options. Fish Lane Restaurant Precinct, located just 750 meters from West Village, further adds to the culinary diversity, providing residents with a variety of dining experiences to explore and enjoy.
