Chevron Island's village lifestyle is drawing both developers and buyers to the small island directly inland of Surfers Paradise.

The latest developer to take advantage of the in-demand suburb is Bastion, whose new $90 million NERA Residences will take up position toward the northern end of the island at 8-10 Parneno Street, just two streets away from the high street strip of Thomas Drive.

Thomas Drive hosts a variety of boutique retailers, highly-rated restaurants, and cafes, including Curry Muncher, Wagyu-Ya, Arlo's Pizzeria, Casa Brasil, The Balkan Est, and The Noodle House. Thomas Drive is also the main thoroughfare through Chevron Island, a bridge to Surfers Paradise to the east and Southport to the west.

Chevron Renaissance, the largest shopping centre in Surfers Paradise, is just across the bridge to Surfers, while the retail hubs of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Cavill Avenue are less than two kilometres away from NERA.

Although a relatively small suburb compared to its neighbours, Chevron Island boasts a number of riverside parks and reserves like Chevron Island Park and Korman Family Park, as well as park and fishing spots at Darrambal Street Reserve.

The Home of The Arts (HOTA) precinct, located south of Chevron Island and connected by Bundall Rd over the Nerang River, is set to activate artistic programs, markets, festivals, film events, family recreation, and architectural showcases from Melbourne-based practice ARM.

While Chevron Island isn't home to any educational institutions, its central location puts it only a short drive from Surfers Paradise State School, The Southport School, and Keebra Park State High School.

NERA comprises 87 two and three-bedroom apartments, half-floor sky homes, and a penthouse over 28 levels, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Gold Coast Hinterland.

The rooftop features 360-degree views and is home to an infinity pool, wellness spas, and a fitness centre, as well as resident private dining areas and outdoor sky lounges with fire pits.

NERA's construction will commence soon, with completion slated for mid-2026.
