Gold Coast apartment developments with the best rooftop amenities

Rooftop facilities are the way to go on the Gold Coast.

In years gone by, the top of high-rise towers has been reserved for multi-level penthouses, likely with their own private rooftop terraces. That's often the case with more boutique, luxury buildings on the beach.

The mid-sized buildings, however, those that are between around 15 to 25 levels, often don't need a selection of penthouses. They dedicate their rooftop to outdoor recreation for the whole building.

We've had a look at what's on offer up and down the Gold Coast, and which apartment developments have the best rooftop amenity.

Project: Tapestry

Location: 39 Darrambal Street, Chevron Island QLD 4217

Developer: Siera Property Group

Siera Property Group focused on giving the residents in its debut Gold Coast apartment development, Tapestry on Chevron Island, a full suite of facilities on its 22nd level rooftop.

The Tapestry rooftop has 700 sqm of amenity and features separate recreation zones for residents to relax, connect and engage in the elevated landscape.

The sculptural tower, designed by the local architecture firm BDA, is crowned by a roof terrace with an infinity pool with views across Surfers Paradise, the ocean, river, and Hinterland.

The rooftop is also home to a private dining space and kitchen, which can be closed off, lounge and fire pit, yoga lawn, pool, spa and sundeck, barbecue and alfresco area, gym, sauna, steam room, and lounge area separated by extensive landscaping.

Tapestry also provides a network-connected private co-working area, ensuring a productive and comfortable work environment.

Tapestry is Siera Property Group's first foray into the Gold Coast apartment market, having had success for several years developing and building in Brisbane's inner ring.

Tapestry will feature 113 apartments on Darrambal Street when it is completed by Siera's in-house building arm in late 2025.

Project: Orama

Location: 12-16 Weemala Street, Chevron Island QLD 4217

Developer: Aniko Group

Everything about Aniko Group’s debut Chevron Island apartment development, Orama, has been created with the intent to provide buyers with the best experience and amenities of any project on the market in the precinct.

Orama will exude luxury, from the quality of each residence to the 550 sqm rooftop recreation area comprising a gymnasium, pool, spa, residents lounge and a host of other amenities,” said Aniko Group Managing Director George Mastrocostas.

Orama's other rooftop amenity level includes a yoga and Pilates room, residents' lounge with indoor and outdoor dining options, barbecue facilities, and a fully equipped business centre.

Once complete, Orama will comprise 102 apartments on Weemala Street and include two-bedroom apartments and a range of three-bedroom skyhomes, offering panoramic views over the central Gold Coast skyline.

The project has been so far popular with local downsizers and interstate migrators and is well on its way to a sellout.

Project: Esprit

Location: 217-227 Boundary Street, Coolangatta QLD 4225

Developer: S&S Projects

S&S Projects' under-construction apartment development Esprit in Rainbow Bay, is delivering the only rooftop wellness club atop residential apartments.

Club Esprit will span more than 1,100 sqm and will feature every wellness and recreational amenity, dubbed as offering an "elite-athlete standard of physical and mental rejuvenation."

There is set to be a 25-metre lap pool and poolside cabanas, a fully equipped gym, a yoga lawn, a private remedial treatment room, an ice bath, an infrared sauna, and steam rooms.

The wellness amenity is balanced by an expansive recreational space, including a children’s lawn with play equipment, a private dining room, private terraces, BBQ areas and an outdoor cinema.

S&S Projects is currently progressing ahead with the construction of Esprit, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Project: Monarch Place

Location: 61-73 Meron Street, Southport QLD 4215

Developer: Azzura Development

Roberto Badaloitt's Azzura Development has also focused its amenity on the rooftop of its latest stage of its $1 billion Southport masterlpan, Imperial Square.

Designed by Kris Kowalski Architects, Monarch Place will introduce the first new retail and commercial tenancies of Imperial Square. Residents of Monarch Place will have access to the Monarch Imperial Club, which includes heated indoor and outdoor pools, a revitalising magnesium pool, a gym, a sauna, a beauty parlour, entertainment rooms, a cinema, a golf simulator, an art studio, library, workshop, bar, and restaurant.

A 1,500 sqm childcare facility will also be available on-site.

There will also be a medical precinct serviced by leading medical specialists and a fully staffed concierge service that will fulfill on-demand yacht charters and helicopter tours to food tours with locally renowned chefs.
