Exclusive: Pask Group secure next Gold Coast apartment development site
As construction comes toward the pointy end of their sold out Palm Beach apartment development Esplanade, veteran developer Pask Group has secured its next Gold Coast apartment development site.
They've grabbed a 1,012 sqm site at 216 Esplanade in Burleigh Heads, which came with approved plans for a luxury apartment development designed by Koichi Takada, who has put his stamp on the Burleigh Heads beachfront in recent years.
He first designed FORME's award-winning Goodwin Terrace apartment project The Norfolk, and the recently launched Isabel by Mosaic, which is just a few doors down from Pask's new project.
Nearly 18 months ago plans were filed for a 17-level tower then dubbed Palms. Just 28 half and full-floor apartments were signed off by the Gold Coast City Council in February.
The three-bed apartments, 23 of them, will start from 205 sqm internally, and the five four-bedroom apartments start from 411 sqm of living space across a full floor. They will have a butler's pantry in the kitchen, a second living space/rumpus room, and high-end wine storage.
The tower will be crowned with two two-level penthouses, with the 295 sqm half floor apartments on level one, with level two set to home a huge master suite, an outdoor dining terrace with built-in barbecue kitchen, a sun deck, and a private plunge pool.
The resident amenity is located on the second level, where there will be a resort-style pool with ice bath, hot tub, two saunas, and an outdoor shower. A lounge zone will meet a barbecue space, and toward the rear of the building is a gym with an outdoor space, and a yoga studio. A three-bedroom apartment is also located on this level, with its own plunge pool in a wrap around garden.
Takada says the development is inspired by its natural surroundings.
"216 The Esplanade is designed in homage to the coastal locale, with a sculptural form evocative of ocean waves and composed of materials that reference nature and the lifestyle aspect of Burleigh Heads," Takada wrote in the design statement in the development application.
"The distinctive design of the building and its sculptural features are intended to position the building as a landmark in this visually prominent location and in turn as a catalyst to encourage higher quality development ion the adjoining area."
Pask, founded by Nev Pask back in 1969 and currently ran by son Dean, are also preparing to launch 250 Albert Street, a striking collection of just 23 apartments in East Melbourne.
