Demolition paves way for new Chevron Island apartment development Nera
Queensland developer Bastion Group has fast tracked plans for its $140 million Chevron Island apartment development Nera following the successful completion of demolition on site.
Early works are anticipated to start in coming months on the 28-storey building with 87 apartments and extensive rooftop amenity Chevron Island is starting to get a name for.
Alex Wood, one of the developers who make up Bastion Group, said the completion of demolition marks an exciting step forward in the delivery of Nera.
"We look forward to seeing our vision come to life,” Wood said.
“We have spent a lot of time ensuring a project of this scale was deliverable in the current climate and we are proud to today be closing the chapter on the first major construction milestone.”
“Bastion have hit the ground running with this project and we can confirm that we’re already in the process of negotiating early works, just weeks out from the Nera’s official launch to market.”

Wood said no stone has been left unturned when it comes to creating the highest quality residence.
From sourcing of the most cutting-edge and unique global partnerships, we are able to bring some of the most competitive amenities to market in this project, Wood said.
“Bastion has bold ambitions, inspired by global thinking, and we’re confident in the delivery of the luxurious residential project that we’re bringing to Chevron Island.”
Nera is being undertaken by Bastion Group, consisting of a private consortium of diverse Australian and international experts in residential development.
Construction is expected to commence in Q2 2024, with overall completion anticipated for Q2 2026.
The development approved project is currently going through a minor revision with council and is set to be released to market in the new year.
