Construction commences at Joe Adsett's Rockpool Rainbow Bay
Architect-cum developer Joe Adsett's luxury Gold Coast apartment project, Rockpool Rainbow Bay, is starting its construction.
Southeast Queensland building firm Tomkins Commercial has started earthworks on the prime site at 154-156 Marine Parade, which will offer never-to-be-built-out views to Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks.
The $100 million project will comprise 21 high-end apartments
Adsett's design ethos was to deliver a "sub-tropical modernist architectural approach to beachfront apartment living."
80 per cent of apartments in Rockpool are already accounted for.

“I am pleased to announce that Rockpool is well and truly underway, and we look forward to seeing our vision come to life,” Adsett says.
“Tomkins have been one of Queensland’s leading construction companies for over 70 years and they are well equipped to ensure the delivery of the project.”
In recent years the southern tip of the Gold Coast has undergone a significant urban renewal and gentrification, spearheaded by high demand and limited development sites available.
Three full-floor penthouses have just been released to the market through Pezet Matheson.
“Now that the project is under construction and we have reached 80 per cent sold, we will be launching the hotly anticipated Rockpool penthouse collection,” Adsett says.
Offering from 520 sqm of luxury living, the jewel in the crown penthouse collection features five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, three living areas, four garaged car parks, a private wine cellar, fireplace, and uninterrupted ocean views, never to be built out.
A mix of three, four and five-bedroom floorplans will be on offer in Rockpool, with sizes ranging from 245 sqm through to 512 sqm.
The exclusive resident amenity includes a private heated lap pool, sauna, gym, beach lockers, and private office space.
Rockpool has secured funding by ANZ with the tower expected to come out of the ground this year.
It's the fourth major funding facility provided by ANZ to the architect-developer in the luxury residential space. ANZ partnered with Joe Adsett and Tomkins to deliver Botanic in New Farm.
