Bluebird has lodged a bold DA for a leafy residential development on the river at Highgate Hill.

Designed by Ellivo Architects, the apartment building of eight units embraces the neighbouring park and community garden in a verdant design that connects with its surroundings. ⁣

The proposal would replace an existing apartment complex that has declined beyond restoration due to its age. ⁣

Bluebird co-founders and managing partners, Riye Arai-Coupe and Claire O’Rourke, said the new vision for the site proposes to deliver a reduced number of apartments and introduces leading biophilic and sustainable design principles.

“It’s an approach that will deliver a building that not only ‘breathes’ but gives back to its community through highly considered design that prioritises the connection between environment, social harmony, and enduring wellbeing.” ⁣
