Inside Deicorp's upcoming Parramatta apartment development, Cosmopolitan by Deicorp
The first cab off Deicorp's long pipeline of projects will be Cosmopolitan, their $560 million, twin-tower development in Parramatta.
The project, approved late last year at 34 Hassall Street, Parramatta, will comprise 600 one, two and three-bedroom apartments in two 45-level towers, above a new retail village hub.
Turner Studio has handled the design of the towers following an extensive design competition.
The innovative design incorporates a raised podium that links the two towers. The first three podiums, collectively named ‘Gully Forest,’ will feature a landscaped sanctuary adorned with lush greenery, alongside smaller breakout and seating spaces, a distinctive outdoor kitchen, and garden pavilions.
The ground floor podium is strategically designed to provide extensive retail and hospitality frontages for commercial tenants, activating the entire precinct.
On the second level of the podium, an open-air community space will be home to barbecue facilities and smaller group gathering areas. Above will feature flexible workplace tenancies, as well as spaces designated for a fitness centre and medical practice.
The building is conceived to evoke a garden-like atmosphere, providing a park-like experience for both visitors and residents. This nature-centric theme extends into the apartments, offering district views of nearby attractions such as the river and parkland.
"Minimising unhelpful sight lines and increasing solar and views has been a key consideration in the design of the towers," Turner noted in their design statement.
"Apartment placement and the facade have been designed to allow for at least 24m of visual privacy between the towers, even whilst maintaining an 18-metre building separation. The tower forms maximise and share these views for all the residents."
The apartments themselves are characterised by their spacious, bright, and airy interiors, featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing and doors.
The open floor plan seamlessly connects the kitchen, living, and dining areas, leading to a balcony with panoramic city views that enhance with each ascending floor.
The galley kitchen is well-equipped with built-in cabinetry and an island bar setup for multi-purpose use.
Bathrooms showcase floor-to-wall tiles, bathtubs, and waterfall showers, incorporating wood and stone themes for a modern yet warm ambience.
Situated on the park-side edge of Parramatta’s CBD and in proximity to the new Parramatta Light Rail stop, Cosmopolitan ensures easy connections to key destinations for its future residents.
Deicorp has a significant pipeline of new projects, with upcoming developments in Rhodes, Crows Nest and Melrose Park expected to launch in the next 18 months.
