Burwood, known for its established and leafy streets, is set to welcome a new architectural gem that reimagines modern living.

The charming suburb's newest project, McIntyre, developed by First Urban and designed by Embrace Architects, showcases a thoughtful approach to design, elevating the essentials of contemporary life, with oversized apartments inspired by nature and indulgent luxury.

The architects have crafted a modern interpretation of a tranquil, tree-lined neighbourhood, infusing McIntyre with a timeless style that incorporates texture, form, and light.

Spread across four levels, the development comprises 36 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as single-level penthouses, with the floorplans designed to optimise natural light.

The architecture of McIntyre acknowledges its elevated position, seamlessly integrating with the natural landscape. The building ascends the gentle slope of the site, offering views and a strong connection to the outdoors, with cubed and rectilinear volumes forming the structure, blending harmoniously with the north-facing location.

The use of white concrete render-work cleverly frames and highlights the individual terraces and gardens, creating a play of light and shade. The façade's detailing, including glazed panels and timber and metal battens, further accentuates the interplay of light throughout the day.

Ground-level garden residences offer a unique connection to nature, while mid-level residences boast private outdoor terraces. The upper-level luxury penthouses provide a panoramic view of the surrounding greenery, including parkland and the Gardiners Creek Trail.

The secure basement level ensures convenience with ample parking spaces, private storage, bicycle bays, and visitor parking, all accessible through secure stair and lift access to every level.

Embrace has carefully selected a refined palette of natural materials, including timber, Italian marble, and terrazzo stone, creating a sense of elegance throughout. The custom-designed joinery, finished in timber grain veneer or sleek 2pac surfaces, adds to the flow and visual appeal of the spaces. Built-in joinery can be found in select entryways, niche study zones in the living areas or master bedrooms, European or walk-in laundries, substantial full-length wardrobes in the bedrooms, and even smart walk-through robes in most master bedrooms.

Open-plan living areas are bathed in natural light, with thoughtful inclusions that contribute to modern comfort and convenience. Timber floors lead to full-height glass sliders and glazed French doors, seamlessly merging indoor and outdoor spaces. Expansive glass windows allow sunlight to fill the interiors, framed by sleek black metal frames.

The attention to detail extends beyond the interiors, as the outdoor terrace and courtyard garden offer a peaceful retreat. Walls of greenery, mature trees, and open areas feature, while ample sunlight bathes the space. The outdoor areas serve as practical extensions of the living areas, providing room for outdoor furniture and fostering a sense of connection with nature.
