Sydney apartments near train stations are becoming great investments for homebuyers seeking to add a premium to their new property.

This premium was recorded at an average of 4.5 per cent for homes within 400 metres of a station, according to a Sydney study analysing rail projects between 2000 and 2014.

Urban takes a look at eight brand-new, off-the-plan properties that sit within 500 metres of a train station.

1. Lotus Residences, Hurstville
