Western Sydney developer ALAND set its sights on Gosford just over two years ago, when it secured a prime site on the corner of two of Gosford's best-located streets.

They went about creating Archibald by ALAND, a mixed-use development comprising both apartments and luxury hotel rooms.

In early 2023, ALAND put the shovel in the ground, less than 12 months after purchasing the 5,656 sqm block of land on the corner of Mann and Denison Streets.

After 18 months of building, ALAND Construction has now topped out the two towers, with the honourable NSW Premier Chris Minns the first to congratulate the team at the recent topping out ceremony.

Named after Archibald Acheson, the second Earl of Gosford, Archibald by ALAND features 327 apartments, a 130-room voco® hotel, and six hospitality venues, including the Central Coast’s highest rooftop bar.

Over 95 per cent of the apartments in the development have already sold, marking the project one of the most successful across Greater Sydney for a number of years.

ALAND Founder and Owner Andrew Hrsto says the building’s distinctive curved façade was inspired by the white sails often seen on nearby Brisbane Water, a magnet for water sport enthusiasts of all types.

“We wanted to capture the energy and natural beauty of the Central Coast,” Hrsto said.

“The public spaces, apartments and guest rooms also channel that relaxed, coastal lifestyle vibe but with a splash of European sophistication.”

The building is going to contribute significantly to the wider Gosford community with a ground-floor pub with pizzeria and pasta bar, a signature restaurant on level five and a rooftop bar on level 28. Each of the food and beverage tenancies are being curated by top Sydney chef, Dany Karam.

Archibald by ALAND residents will have access to a swimming pool with swimup bar, cleverly located on an outdoor podium level, as well as a state-of-the-art gym.

Hrsto says the $375m Archibald Precinct will not only bring new life and employment to Gosford’s downtown area, but also help to reposition the city as the state’s newest tourist and conference destination.

“There is nothing like this in Gosford,” he says.

“voco® Gosford will appeal to Sydneysiders looking for a short break, the corporate and conference market and general travelers who want to explore the Central Coast.”

Even before its completion, Archibald by ALAND was named Australia’s Best Mixed-Use Development at the 2024 Asia Pacific Property Awards.

ALAND CEO George Tadrosse says the Archibald Precinct will do more than just transform the nighttime economy of Gosford, helping to reposition the city as a major new tourism and conference destination.

“Gosford has so much to offer the visitor, such nearby Brisbane Water, magnificent national parks and a string of beautiful beaches,” he said.

“Being located between Sydney and Newcastle, Gosford is also very accessible for both domestic and international visitors.”

Tadrosse says that the Archibald Precinct complements the other major developments, such as the new $63.8m University of Newcastle campus, that are helping to revive the local Gosford economy.

“The six new bars and restaurants are going to bring locals back into the city, while the conference facilities and grand ballroom will provide a venue for events that Gosford has never been able to host before."

Once it is up-and-running, voco® Gosford will employ over 200 people, creating exciting new opportunities for local people who want to pursue a career in catering, hospitality or event management.

“This is the beginning a great new chapter for Gosford,” Tadrosse added.
