Privately-held developer ALAND has had the second stage of its $800 million Merrylands development, The Gladstone Village, approved by the Cumberland City Council.

The second stage of The Gladstone Village boasts a 20-level structure that will house a mix of 245 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, along with three ground-floor retail spaces and a large residents-only rooftop terrace.

The tower is dominated by two-beds (196), with 28 one-bedroom apartments and 21 three-bedders.

On the top level, residents will have access to a 940 sqm rooftop terrace providing a variety of amenities including an outdoor cinema screen, a barbecue area kitchen pavilion, yoga and retreat spaces, as well as a community vegetable garden.

Apartments on level one will also have access to private landscaped gardens with retreat seating, covered breakout spaces and a kid’s play soft turf area.

The third and final stage, lodged just a few months after the 20-storey mixed-use tower, will include three buildings ranging from 12 to 16 storeys tall on a 6156 sqm site. This stage will offer 310 units, including 231 two-bedroom apartments, 49 three-bedroom units, and 30 one-bedroom units.

There will be four food and beverage shops on the ground floor.

ALAND is working with PTW Architects, Land and Form Studio, and Think Planners throughout the whole development. Stages two and three, in particular, were designed together to ensure the best urban design results.

On completion, the 2.5-hectare master planned precinct will home 1100 apartments, as well as a village atmosphere with dining, retail, health and wellbeing spaces on the street level and over 2,500 sqm of open space.

The Gladstone Village is within walking distance of Stockland Merrylands Shopping Centre, an array of restaurants and cafes, as well as numerous parks and nearby educational institutions. The growing local infrastructure in the area also means Gladstone Village is just ten minutes away from Parramatta, while the Sydney CBD is less than a 30-minute drive.
