Noosa record smashed with $10 million plus sale

A Noosa waterfront home has just sold for a suburb record, at an undisclosed price set to over $10 million.

The Wyuna Drive waterfront sale was secured by Tom Offermann Real Estate agent John Dover, who had an $11.9 million guide.

It eclipsed the record set by the Offermann team last year when a beachfront home on Sunshine Beach fetched $9.3 million. The buyer was Australia's richest female executive Maxine Horne.

The recently built house on two parcels was rated HIA Queensland home of the year.

It was built with concrete, steel, timber, stone and glass.

Designed by Paul Clout and spanning over 800 sqm of living space, the home has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, an award winning kitchen, study, media room and self-contained caretaker wing.

There are a number of internal courtyards integrating indoor and outdoor living.

A 25 metre solar heated infinity pool and outdoor kitchen overlooks the 45 metres of water frontage which features a private sandy beach, two jetty's and a boat ramp.

Dover said the market must be strong, with multiple buyers submitting eight digit contracts.

"We meet a lot of people who lament not buying here years ago, and I am certain that history will repeat itself," he said.

"If you can do it, why wouldn't you want to live here, even if it's just as a second home?"

Tom Offermann principal Tom Offermann said over the past six weeks his company's top eight sales had an average of $5,955,000, although suggested there's more to Noosa than the top end of the market.

"It's not just the prestige properties that buyers are targeting, and there are good opportunities for buyers at all levels who want to invest or live here," Tom said.

"It was raining cats and dogs here last Saturday which you would expect to dampen sales, but by nightfall more than $15 million in contracts were consummated by our agents."

One of the recent sales was an apartment in Hastings Street that fetched $6.9 million at auction.
