School-aged children are in proximity to several government primary and secondary schools, with suburban private schools conveniently connected by tram routes from NewQuay.
Tertiary institutions including Melbourne University, RMIT, Victoria University and the Australian National University are all accessible on the tram network.
Parks
NewQuay currently boasts over 2.2 hectares of parks, which will soon be increased by the development of the second stage of Ron Barrassi Senior Reserve and the construction of NewQuay Central Park as part of the Banksia development.
This makes the green space development at NewQuay the largest green space complex constructed close to the city since Birrarung Marr in 2002.
Entertainment and Convenience
Harbour Town Shopping Centre is continuing with its multimillion dollar redevelopment.
Having completed the canopy works, landscaping and seating upgrades throughout the centre, works have also commenced on the new cinema and entertainment complex, which will include a Hoyts cinema, food retailers and a bowling alley.
The center will also expand to include a fresh food market and a full line grocery store.
Hotels
Proximity to the city center, a choice of entertainment and the scenic waterside location are perennial draws for visitors to NewQuay. The hotel industry has recognised these unique assets with leasing operators investing in the precinct.
In addition to the Sebel Hotel located at the The Quays, a new Four Points by Sheraton will open its doors in March, and will be joined in 2018 by the largest Quest serviced apartments in Australia.
