Buyer advocate Greville Pabst, of the WBP Group noted a new suburb price record in Thornbury was set at weekend auction.

It was when the renovated four-bedroom period residence at 13 Shaftesbury Parade sold for $1,945,000 through Nelson Alexander.

Quite some renovation as above was how it appeared before when sold in 2011 at almost a third of the price at $685,000.

The previous house price record was an Edwardian home sold at $1.75 million last year on Streetle Street.
