The Queens Park home of the now Byron Bay-based INXS drummer Jon Farriss, has been sold well before its scheduled auction.

Farriss, who is now renting a $1,250 a week estate at Newrybar in the Byron Bay hinterland, paid $3,225,000 in Queens Park in 2007.

The 1970s home set behind a walled fore garden on York Road has views to Centennial Park from its upper level.

There's four bedrooms, a separate studio apartment, a built-in barbecue courtyard and a swimming pool on its 605 square metre parcel.

It cost Farriss $3,225,000 in 2007 and became a $3,200 a week rental when the drummer moved north.

The Agency's Ben Collier sold the home.

Farriss previously owned a Hyams Beach waterfront which he sold for a then record $2.32 million two years ago. He paid $1.78 million in 2004.
