Hosier Lane, late 2012

Hosier Lane, late 2012
Mark BaljakJanuary 18, 2013

Welcome to the first of what will become regular updates dedicated to one of Melbourne's tourist and cultural attractions, the artwork of Hosier Lane. Bound by Flinders St and Flinders Lane, Hosier Lane and adjoining Rutledge Lane are home to an ever dynamic and ecclectic body of street art, but for those not aware of this cobbled jem an apt description can be found at Laneway Magazine.

Whilst only taking in the final weeks of 2012, Urban.com.au hopes the images below will go some distance in wetting the appetite of the reader, and rest assured subsequent updates will be comprehensive. Enjoy

Mark Baljak

Mark Baljak was a co-founder of Urban.com.au. He passed away on Thursday 8th of November 2018 after a battle with cancer. He was 37. Mark was a keen traveller, having visited all six permanently-inhabited continents and had a love of craft beer. One of his biggest passions was observing the change that has occurred in Melbourne over the past two decades. In that time he built an enormous library of photos, all taken by him, which tracked the progress of construction on building sites from across metropolitan Melbourne.
