Screen editor Henry Dangar and partner Belinda Mason have sold their long-time Lilyfield Federation for $2.36 million.

The 411 sqm home set on one of Lilyfield's premier tree-lined streets has four bedrooms and a private level garden with paved alfresco entertainment area.

Simon Pilcher of Pilcher Residential - Annandale secured the Paling Street sale which was set to go to auction with a $2 million price guide.

Dangar started his screen career as an assistant in the ABC editing department, before heading overseas to be a part of the BBC and declaring himself an editor on his return to Australia.

He has now edited 24 feature films including Winter of our Dreams.

Considered as one of the best screen editors in the country, Dangar has won the AFI Best Achievement award in editing for Kiss or Kill.

In 1981 on Stir he was one of the youngest feature film editors in Australia.

His television drama work has included The Bangkok Hilton, Love My Way and Rake.
