German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton’s former residence in East Melbourne has been listed for sale with $2.3 million plus hopes.

The George Street property is currently operating as a medical clinic with four former bedrooms, two offices and a kitchenette.

The property features original Victorian architecture including ornate high ceilings and marble and timber open fireplaces.

The 481-square-metre property has the potential of being restored into a family home, subject to council approval.

The property will go under the hammer on June 22 through James Redfern and David Volpato of Marshall White.
