Former Macquarie Bank executive Michael Carapiet and wife Helen have listed their long-held family home in Castlecrag.

The couple have owned the five bedroom home with swimming pool and spa since paying $1,865,000 in 1998.

McGrath Northbridge agents David Howe and Harriet Halmarick have a March 4 auction guide of $5.7 million to $6.2 million.

The couple are off to Northbridge.

Michael is chair of the ASX-listed Link Group. He was a member of Macquarie Group's Executive Committee from 2005 until he retired in 2011.

The veteran investment banker headed Macquarie Capital during Macquarie's rapid growth as an investment bank.
