Exclusive: Sydney's newest food precinct was unveiled at Coronation Property's 'The Paper Mill'
Western Sydney’s newest food precinct was unveiled last night in one of the property industry’s most exclusive launch party event of the year in Liverpool where VIP guests experienced a world-class culinary and lifestyle offering previously unseen to the region.

Opening to the public on August 10th 2019, The Paper Mill Food is a 1,800sqm precinct offering four distinct restaurants under the heritage sawtooth roof of the beautifully restored 1914 Paper Mill building.
Located at Coronation Property’s 882-apartment urban renewal project, the Paper Mill Precinct on the shores of the Georges River will reflect the cultural diversity and vibrancy of Sydney’s West, whilst progressing Liverpool as a major culinary destination as it quickly transforms into what’s been heralded as Sydney’s third CBD.

Firepit, an à la carte restaurant specialising in wood-fire cooked meat and seafood; Charcoal Joe’s, a Lebanese charcoal chicken outlet; Shepherd’s Lane, a café and dessert bar; and Georgie’s, a pizzeria and bar are the four restaurants that make up The Paper Mill with an events space to provide the perfect venue for weddings, christenings, anniversaries with the flexibility to cater for small and large gatherings of 120 or more under the one roof.

In addition, Paper Mill Kids will provide a function venue and play area for children, with bench seating and a playground to keep the kids entertained while parents dine.

Having already delivered The Paper Mill’s first stage buildings – The Paper Mill – and with the second and third stages, The Gild and The Bindery currently in their settlement period, Joseph Nahas, Coronation Property’s Managing Director, says the revitalisation of the heritage paper mill building into a buzzing retail quarter was a key objective of the masterplan.

“We’ve used the best food specialists in the business to create The Paper Mill Food, and this unique destination will anchor the entire precinct, enticing families from across Western Sydney who are looking for a top-quality food experience delivered in a welcoming and down-to-earth environment,” he confirmed.

“We wanted to create a space that feels like home and which encourages a new brand of family-friendly eating, because for many families, the kitchen is the heart of the home.
The people of the west have been crying out for a venue such as this for a long time, and we’re very proud to be delivering it for them.”

The Paper Mill building has been respectfully transformed by hospitality interior architects DS17 – the firm behind Alpha, Lotus Restaurant, Bel & Brio, Nour, Casa Chibo, Chu The Phat and Madame Wu – who have honoured the industrial history with contemporary updates in steel, glass and stone.

The stellar team on the ground includes General Manager Jason Chow – ex Solotel, Chiswick and Aria – and Executive Chef Nader Shayeb – ex Nour, Bouillon, Aqua Luna, La Sala and Kazbah in Sydney and Moro, London.

“Having an experienced, first-class hospitality team such as this at The Paper Mill Food really is a coup for Coronation Property and for Western Sydney,” added Mr Nahas.
“What we’ve created is a venue where people can come in for coffee on the go, have lunch with the kids, or bring colleagues in for corporate entertaining.”

Mr Nahas says The Paper Mill Food is consistent with his company’s goal of providing affordable world-class design and luxury at The Paper Mill.

“As a company, Coronation Property is firmly committed to delivering a first-class lifestyle that benefits the whole community, both at The Paper Mill and across greater Sydney. From the very start, our vision for The Paper Mill was to use the best architects and interior and landscape designers to create a masterplanned precinct offering outstanding design and amenity, but at a price everyday people can afford.”

“This high level of design has really resonated with the Liverpool community, with many embracing the lifestyle on offer here – especially as it’s something that’s never been seen in Sydney’s west before.
This journey has now been capped with the opening of this amazing food precinct, which is dedicated to shared, family-focussed food experiences, but is accessible to everyone.”

Urban.com.au’s very own Client Strategist and Account Director for Social Garden Pieter Jordaan was grateful to attend the event saying “It was an epic event and the most appropriate way to launch a space that will see countless celebrations to come. The Paper Mill Food is going to set the benchmark for venues across the Liverpool region. At multiple moments throughout the night I had to remind myself that I was in Liverpool as the vibes were world class.”
