Darren Cooper elected as Urban Development Institute president

The Urban Development Institute of Australia has elected Darren Cooper to replace the outgoing Michael Corcoran as its next national president after his two year term.

The UDIA, which has more than 2000 member companies, champions issues of housing affordability, supply and infrastructure policy.

Cooper has more than 30 years of experience in the development industry.

He currently serves on a variety of boards in the development industry, not-for-profit organisations and private companies.

Cooper is a strategic adviser to national developer AMEX Corporation.

He is a Life Member of UDIA WA and a former senior executive at Mirvac, Blackburne Property Group and PEET Limited.

"Our industry delivers 10 percent of Australia's GDP and employs 10 percent of Australia's workforce. UDIA is here to ensure that our industry's voice is heard given this massive contribution."
