Coburg mansion, built as a mirror-image of next door, listed for sale

Waratah or Manumbar, one of a pair of mirror-image mansions in Coburg, has been listed for sale.

Offers close November 21 for the 1890s heritage-listed house at 47 The Grove which last sold for $730,000 in 2000.

The property, which has a price guide of $3 million to $3.3 million, was designed by architect TJ Crouch.

It was renovated in 2007, extending the home on its 932sq m landscaped gardens lot.

It has wraparound verandas and balconies, tower, stained glass windows, ornate plasterwork, decorative breezeways, intricate cornicing, and open fireplaces with original marble mantels.

It last sold 17 years ago.
