Cate Blanchett sells Berowra Waters trophy home accessible only by boat
Actor Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton have sold their Berowra Waters holiday home.
There were 10 inspections held over the past three weeks wit three buyers competing for the waterfront retreat listed with expectations of $1.75 million.
The three storey home that has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, is accessible only by boat.
It has a deep-water jetty and was offered with a complementary runabout boat.
There is an outdoor spaand a fully self-contained guest suite.
The residence last traded in 2014, when it sold for $1,495,000.
The Fortescue Metals chief Elizabeth Gaines sits among prior owners habing bought it in 2011 for $1.45 million from former Brent St Studio performing arts school boss Wayne Aspinall and his wife Jacqui, who had bought it a year earlier for $1.4 million from former David Jones chief Peter Wilkinson and his wife Yvonne.
Berowra Water’s median house price is $1,059,233, according to CoreLogic.
The acting family have moved their family to the UK, having bought an English manor, Highwell House, in East Sussex for £3 million in 2016, then selling their Hunters Hill riverfront home Bulwarra for $18 million in 2017.
It came after it had already sold, to a Chinese buyer, for $20 million, however they could not complete.
