Larry Emdur buys Berowra Waters weekender
Channel 7 morning star Larry Emdur and wife Sylvie have bought at Berowra Waters as a retreat from their Bondi base.
They have snapped up a $1.1 million Neverfail Bay getaway which had previously fetched $1.3 million five years ago.
It is one of the most reclusive spots in Sydney, accessible only by boat.
“The magical bay is much quieter than Bondi,” Emdur told The Sell.
The architecturally designed home was built in 2013 for an artistic family requiring light and space, and creative work areas.
There’s 5m high ceilings on the north-facing home with the wall on the river side almost entirely glass. The floors are polished bamboo.
The Emdur home is positioned nicely to watch seaplanes landing, delivering diners to Berowra Waters Inn, the award-winning restaurant which the late Tony Bilson established with partner Gay in the late-1970s.
Meanwhile, entertainment industry stars Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton pocketed $1.7 million when they sold their nearby Berowra Waters retreat recently.
The sale, slightly below their $1.75 million expectations, was to Nigel Houston through Ray White agent Noel Nicholson.
The three-storey, five-bedroom, four-bathroom creekfront cost $1,495,000 in 2014.
